Pune Municipal Corporation provided financial assistance to 10th pass students in backward-class communities for their further education under the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Scheme (BWS)

Eligibility
- Students with more than 80% marks in class 10th examination for open category students
- Students studying in Pune Municipal Corporation schools or night schools, students from backward category students with more than 70% marks.
- Students with more than 40% disability, more than 65% marks are eligible for the benefit.
- If the number of children in the family exceeds two due to surviving children born after 01/05/2001, the benefit of the scheme will not be availed.
- The right to reject or accept the application considering the available financial provision and terms and conditions. Chief Social Development Officer, Social Devrelopment Department. It will remain with Pune Municipal Corporation. Also, their decision regarding this matter will be final.
Benefits
- Educational financial assistance will be given if you have taken admission in any branch in a government or university recognized institution after class 10th.
- The benefit of the scheme will be given to only one beneficiary of a family in a financial year.
- If more applications are received for an academic year than the available provision in the Pune Municipal Budget, the applicants will be given an equal amount or a maximum amount of Rs. 15,000/- financial assistance will be provided.

Documents
The applicants are required to attach the following documents -
- Attested copy of applicant's Aadhaar Card and Bank Passbook must be attached.
- Attested copy of ration card must be attached for child verification.
- Birth certificate / school certificate or bonafide certificate required for proof of age.
- Caste certificate is required to be attached in case of backward class
- Disability certificate will be required to be attached in case of disabled persons.
- College admission fee receipt and admit card must be attached. All the fields in the recommendation of the College Head must be filled.
- As proof that the family has resided in Pune Municipal Corporation for at least 3 years, Municipal Tax Receipt or Light Bill or Telephone Bill (Landline) or Hut Photo Pass / Hut Service Charge Receipt / Rent Agreement for last 3 years should be attached.
- Board mark sheet as well as school percentage certificate if passed from CBSE & ICSE school must be attached.
- Original documents should not be attached. Additions will not be refunded.
